Altuglas® at Versailles

- Press release
Altuglas International is pleased to join in the festivities of the French City of Versailles organized within the framework of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the birth of André Le Nôtre, famous landscape architect of King Louis XIV.

"Perspectives landscape" is an exhibition of contemporary artists in the Parc Balbi, one of which made in Altuglas®.

Altuglas International has provided the art-work "Mechanical Fields" by Vincent Leroy for a few months. The art-work was acquired in 2005. The 1500 giant grasses (1.50m height) are designed in Altuglas® Transparent green Fluo. Together, they form an artificial field of 1000 m², lawn adorned with giant grasses waving gently in the wind.

Vincent Leroy creates a "diversion" to provide a contemporary view of the garden - the garden through French revisited "Mechanical fields." This is an installation made of contrast: the alignment Le Nôtre but with a plant contemporary. It’s the transformation of a material in a poetic manner.

The work and the creations of other artists for this event "Land Art" is visible from April 18th to July 8, 2013, Parc Balbi - Versailles. The park is open to the public.
